Shop wiper blades: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/wiper-blades/ Wiper blades are an essential bit of kit for driving in the rain. Here is our quick guide on how to fit them for yourself. [Halfords. We Fit. We Service. We Repair.] In this guide, we’ll take you through how to fit replacement wiper blades in a few simple steps. This is only a general guide, and your vehicle may have different fittings to the ones featured here. First off though, you’ll need to find the right wiper blades. The easiest way is to use our tool that you can find online or in-store. Simply enter your reg, or a few details about your car’s make and model, and it will show you the correct options. Or, you can always ask one of my expert colleagues. Right, once you’ve got the right blades, let’s start with removing the front wipers. Lift the arm of the wiper and push it all the way back until it sits upright on its own. At the top, youll see a plastic clip - different cars will have different clips. Its either a clip like this where you simply pull the blade off or it could be one that hooks onto the arm where you push it in and down to release the blade. Remove the blade like this. Now replace the arm gently so that it sits against a windscreen protection mat. If you dont, theres a danger that the arm could snap back against the windscreen and shatter it. Holding your new blade, raise the wiper arm again until it can stand upright. Position the new blade over the pin then push it on until you hear a click. The click tells you that its fixed in place. Now swivel the blade back into position and replace the arm against the windscreen. Follow the same steps to replace the other blade. Now for the rear windscreen wiper, again lift the arm until its standing up. Unclip to release the blade and lift it off while youre getting your new blade prepared. Remember to place the arm gently against the wind screen protection mat so that it doesnt snap back unexpectedly and shatter your rear windscreen. Take the new blade and slot the wiper arm through the gap. Hook the blade onto the arm and pull it up until you hear the click that tells you its correctly in place. Swivel the blade back and replace the arm gently against the windscreen. So, its a pretty straightforward process, but if you want to avoid the fiddling about, pop into your local Halfords where our experts will find the right wiper blades and replace them for you.
