We have experienced tremendous attendance at our previous Accelerate with IBM Storage TS7700 advanced topic sessions. Many of the attendees have been working with TS7700 systems since they were first introduced in 2006. However, there are an increasing number of people at both existing and new TS7700 installations who do not have this level of experience. To help address this, we will be providing a TS7700 basic commands and operation session that will be educational for both TS7700 administrators and operations staff who want a better understanding on the following topics: (1) what are these units, (2) what do they do, (3) how do I monitor them, and (4) how do I control them? While we’ll be staying at a basic discussion level, even experienced TS7700 administrators and operators may learn something as we’ll cover a few concepts and commands that are either not widely known about or understood. Most of the operational material will be oriented to z/OS users. However, we will also cover the operational options available to z/VM, z/VSE and z/TPF customers.
